Synopsis

Russia is one of the largest Major Resource Holders (MRH) in the world and yet relatively few foreign companies are active there. Unlike many MRH's, Russia has a well developed domestic oil and gas industry with its own unique history. The presentation will review the opportunity for foreign oil companies to add Russian production to their portfolios, addressing first the potential for new exploration and development prospects. The talk will then consider the additional skills that companies will need to deploy in order to develop a sustainable and profitable business in Russia.

Speaker

Alan's background in the oil industry has primarily been in exploration and new business development on a global basis. He has been actively involved in seeking Russian oil and gas opportunities in the second half of the 90's and from mid '02 until retirement from Shell International in June this year.
