Synopsis

Alan will present an overview of contemporary global developments in the relationship between business and human rights. He will share his insights from his role as expert adviser to the global Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights - a cross-sectoral grouping of multinational companies widely recognised as being at the forefront of the application of human rights risk management systems. Alan will also outline best practice by drawing upon his practical experience of advising energy companies on the ground in high risk countries around the world.

Speaker

Alan is director of McGrigors Rights, an international human rights consultancy, and works out of McGrigors London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Belfast offices. He specialises in developing standards of best practice in human rights in the private and public sectors throughout the UK and abroad.
