Synopsis

Recently at least half of the UK's refineries have been offered for sale, in some cases together with associated marketing portfolios. Meantime the oil terminal and storage business has seen significant expansions and high demand in Europe, while regulatory challenges are increasing across the sector. Ben will address the outlook for the downstream oil industry in the UK and Europe.

Speaker

Ben leads business development for the EMEA Downstream Consulting team at Wood Mackenzie and is based in London. Ben has over 30 years of industry oil and gas experience. His consulting work has included a wide variety of transaction support, strategy and other downstream analysis, for many of the sector's largest companies but has been particularly focused on oil markets, storage and other infrastructure, and on CEE and the CIS. Prior to consulting, Ben worked for Enterprise Oil,latterly as their global Head of Marketing for oil and NGL sales and trading and also for a period as Commercial Manager of the their Italian subsidiary developing the large onshore Southern Italian oil fields. Ben's early career included seven years in BP, in oil trading and refinery supply. He has a first class Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University, supplemented by LBS' Corporate Finance Programme.
