In the last few years there has been significant new interest in the North Sea driven by Private Equity funding new companies. Siccar Point Energy is one such example and the talk will describe the challenges of setting the company up, a description of some exciting value creation opportunities in our portfolio that are now able to go ahead as a result of our Private Equity funding, and some thoughts on the impact of Private Equity funding on the North Sea in general.
Iain has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. He has held a number of senior positions including: Technical Manager for Venture Production, VP Exploration and Geoscience for Pluspetrol based in Argentina, Director of Geoscience for Hess, MD for CASP, and International Exploration Manager for Oryx Energy. He started his career with Shell as a geologist. Most recently Iain held the position of SVP Exploration and Subsurface for Centrica Energy E&P. Iain has been involved in the discovery and appraisal of over 3 billion barrels of oil equivalent in different basins of the world. He has a PhD in structural geology and an MBA.
