Principal GuestsBrian Wilson, MP for Cunningham North, was until recently Minister for Energy and Construction, and before that, Minister of State, The Scottish Office (Minister of Education and Industry). He was educated at Dunoon Grammar School, the University of Dundee and at University College, Cardiff. As a journalist he was publisher and founding editor of the West Highland Free Press. Through contributions to the Guardian, the Glasgow Herald and other national newspapers he earned the distinction of being the first winner of the Nicholas Tomalin Memorial Award for Journalism. He is a keen supporter of Celtic FC and author of a history of the Club. Eddie Rose is a semi retired accountant who has provided after dinner entertainment at numerous events throughout Scotland. He was a finalist in the Wits 2003 competition, an annual dinner event organised as a fund raiser by St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh. He claims to have played football seriously, also first class cricket, squash and tennis. He has now relegated his sporting activities to the golf course.
