Synopsis

The talk will deal with the economic and political situation in Egypt, Melrose's entry into Egypt, our operating experience there, the structure of the oil industry and the regulatory environment in Egypt.

Speaker

Munro Sutherland, 53, joined Melrose Resources in 1998 and was the Finance Director when the company listed in 1999. From 1993 to 1997 he was a director, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Cairn Energy USA, an independent oil and gas company based in Dallas, Texas and quoted on NASDAQ. Prior to that he was the Finance Director of Cairn Energy plc from 1988 to 1993. Melrose Resources is an Edinburgh-based oil and gas exploration, development and production company with interests in Egypt, Bulgaria, United States, France and Turkey. Melrose was admitted to the FTSE 250 share index in 2008.

Arrangements

Members and guests are invited to convene between 17:30 and 18:00 for coffee/tea and biscuits (pay-bar available). Meeting commences at 18:00.  An opportunity for informal discussion between members and guests will follow the presentation in the Cocktail Bar where a pay-bar is available until commencement of the Discussion Dinner (Chatham House Rules) at about 20:00.
