Speaker

As Executive Vice-President of Petro-Canada’s International and Offshore business,   Peter is responsible for leading and growing the International portfolio and the Eastern Canadian offshore business. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, he also contributes to the strategic leadership of the Company.  Peter joined Petro-Canada in 2003 as Vice-President of Corporate Planning and Communications and became Executive Vice-President of International in 2004.

He began his career in 1982 as a Production Engineer with Marathon Oil and Carless Exploration. He joined Enterprise Oil in 1988 as a Petroleum Engineer, leading a team developing the Nelson Field in the U.K. sector of the North Sea. After working in several management positions within Enterprise Oil, ranging from Business Development Manager responsible for acquisitions and disposals to Chief Executive of the Company’s Italian subsidiary, he was appointed to Enterprise Oil’s Executive Committee as General Manager of the Company’s UK business.  Following the takeover of Enterprise Oil by Royal Dutch Shell in 2002, he worked as the External Affairs Director of Shell Exploration and Production U.K.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Applied Physics from Strathclyde University, Glasgow and a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.

Arrangements

Members and guests are invited to convene between 17:30 and 18:00 for coffee/tea and biscuits (pay-bar available). Meeting commences at 18:00.  An opportunity for informal discussion between members and guests will follow the presentation in the Cocktail Bar where a pay-bar is available until commencement of the Discussion Dinner (Chatham House Rules) at about 20:00.
