2006 Scottish Oil Club Golf Tournament

Wednesday 6 September 2006

A tournament for members of The Scottish Oil Club and their guests will be held in competition for the Edinburgh and Leith Oil Club Trophy played over 18 holes on the Mortonhall course.  The golf will be followed by a 3-course dinner where the presentation of prizes will take place.

Founded in 1892, Mortonhall is the oldest course in the City of Edinburgh over which golf is still played and is rightly regarded as one of Scotland's premier clubs. A championship test of 6502 yards, the course boasts magnificent mature silver birch, fir, pine, sycamore and cherry trees, not to mention immaculate fairways. The course enjoys a rich natural environment comprising diverse habitats that support a wide range of flora and fauna as well as unrivalled views across Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth and the Pentland Hills. It is one of the best courses in the Lothians.  See http://www.mortonhallgc.co.uk/thecourse.htm for details of the course.
